Cal Xurriu Xarello El Bosc
I drank the Cal Xurriu while catching up with a good friend named Brian. We both loved high acid white wine and I've been holding onto this one for awhile so it seemed like the perfect. Brian is a great friend, very deeply connected to life and the things that he loves. I'm lucky to have a friend that cares so much about every thing he does.
You should drink more Xarello. I'll see this quite often because Xarello is one of the most friendly white grapes around. It's salty, crisp, so much minerality. It's a light white wine that can stand up to meat dishes while being one of the most crushable styles out there. The Catalans seem to find the balance between drinkabilty and structure better than any region out there.

This Xarello was so cool because at face value it was light, bright, and tasted like salty lemon water. On top of the wine, it had a really cool crunchy texture. Almost like the caramelized top of creme brulee.
The wine is all stainless steel coming from 95 year old vines in a tiny site in Alt-Penedes. The high elevation and pure 0-0 expression of this vineyard makes it a perfect example of why we drink natural wine.
